Primary Duties

The US Hematology Portfolio Strategy Team serves as a strategic group that works to support our hematology franchise across our brands in several key areas. One of these key areas within the team scope is the planning, execution and optimization of our branded educational programs for HCPs and patients. The primary responsibility of the Professional Education Program Lead is to own the strategic leadership of these educational peer-to-peer programs including the engagement with both of our speaker bureaus of HCPs and patient speakers. The Professional Education Program Lead will also integrate the program strategy into a more comprehensive KOL engagement strategy for the franchise.

The Professional Education Program Lead is responsible for the effective development and execution of HCP and branded patient peer-to-peer education programs. This also includes the speaker bureau training activities. With a broad portfolio of products, the Professional Education Program Lead will work closely with the US marketing brand team leads to identify key opportunities for content generation, educational gaps and regional differences across the US, and the best approaches to utilize educational resources. The Professional Education Program Lead will be a key strategic partner to the brands and will need to be familiar with brand strategies and tactics and market dynamics. The role requires an individual that can build and lead teams both in one s span of control, and through many disciplines including but not limited to sales, US and global marketing, competitive intelligence, compliance, medical, legal, and regulatory. Excellent execution skills as well as brand leadership experience are needed. Strategic thinking and creative problem solving are essential for this person to be able to work both inside and outside the organization to effectively be able to show results.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Generally has 8-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing preferably with educational program management
  • Thrombosis/Hematology experience is strongly preferred

The IET AD will be responsible for managing projects and work streams related to IET planning and commercial collateral development. The AD will inform the commercial strategy for the short and long term. He/she must monitor and spot trends early in order to maximize opportunities and minimize risk. Erroneous decisions have significant impact on Takeda's success.
