The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. With a mission to Ensure Patient Safety , the Global Patient Safety Evaluation (GPSE) function at Takeda is responsible for pharmacovigilance (PV) activities including the detection, assessment, management, monitoring, and prevention of adverse events. GPSE has oversight of the benefit-risk profile assessment for all Takeda products. Excellence in patient safety requires mastery of medical and scientific disciplines as well as operational excellence and compliance.
Alofisel, as a novel ATMP (Advanced therapy medicinal product) provides new possibilities for the unmet medical needs of patients who suffer from the complex perianal fistula. This product has been approved by the EMA. Significant work remains to be done to support the additional regulatory submissions and obtain market authorizations. Thus, the objectives of our internship program are:
The prospective intern can support the GPSE organization in many groups, but Global Medical Safety is the primary scientific focus. Deeply involved in the routine pharmacovigilance activities in this group, this intern will have a strong understanding of TAKEDA s core values, which promotes the GPSE s patient-centric mission. More specifically, he or she will work at the forefront of stem cell therapy in the gastrointestinal field, which demonstrates TAKEDA s leading position in the pharmaceutical industry. At the Alofisel product level, he or she will predominantly work on the analysis of the safety information for Alofisel new indications
