POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Takeda's summer internship program blends real world experience with an extensive overview of the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledgeable mentors will provide guidance as you gain professional hands-on experience. The summer internship program is 12 weeks in length and offers a unique perspective into a world-class pharmaceutical company. Compensation is competitive, and financed temporary housing is available to those who qualify. Our internship program also provides you the opportunity to network with people at Takeda through various planned events and activities.

The Corporate Communication Intern will assist the U.S. Business Unit communication team members with internal and external communication activities.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Partners with members of corporate communications team and other cross-functional departments within the U.S. Business Unit to identify initiatives requiring internal and external communication support. Provides input and assists with development and implementation of communication strategy and plan for initiatives identified.
  • Develops and edits content for articles, columns, announcements and other interactive intranet content, letters, digital signage, etc. to support company initiatives.
  • Manages content posts to The Stream, Takeda s mobile application used by the U.S. field sales force
  • Under the Manager s guidance and review, develops and maintains editorial calendar to centralize and track communication plans and timelines for current initiatives requiring communication support.
  • Assists with other communications or projects, as needed by the corporate communications team, including helping develop and maintain content for departmental intranet site, team collaboration intranet site, and company s Internet site and process documents in place to track team activity and output.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

Education:
  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited school for the semester before and immediately following the internship.
  • Applicants must be pursuing a Bachelor s degree and have completed at least their sophomore year, a major in communications is preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be deadline driven and have a high level of organizational and planning skills
  • Demonstrates desire and assertiveness to learn about the Corporate Communications discipline and seek out opportunities to contribute to team projects
  • The ideal candidate exhibits strong analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills; he or she also possesses the ability to work well in teams, effectively manage multiple projects, and present ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Experience in each of the following MS Office applications:
    • MS Outlook Proficient
    • MS Word Proficient
    • MS Excel Proficient
    • MS PowerPoint Proficient
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Local travel may be required based on business needs.
