The Sales Trainer will be responsible for supporting the learning strategy to help ensure the clinical and selling aptitudes of the field force are commensurate with expectations of their role. This person will be a hands-on training specialist with primary responsibility for initial and ongoing training with additional requirements to support curriculum design and implementation.

This role will be embedded into the Paratek Pharmaceuticals Commercial Operations team on-site in King of Prussia, PA however, the candidate will be an employee of PDI with the potential to become a direct hire of Paratek Pharmaceuticals.



  • Bachelor s degree required

  • A minimum of 3 years successful pharmaceutical or medical sales experience

  • 2 years of sales training experience within the pharmaceutical industry

  • Antibiotic / Infectious Disease sales experience required

  • Institutional/hospital selling experience  required

  • Excellent communications and presentation skills

  • Ability to implement Adult Learning Principles

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand manner

  • Responsive problem solver and action-oriented

  • Ability to work under general supervision with a high degree of organizational competence

  • Ability to function well under pressure and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite


Position Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop and deliver training and development programs that align with product strategies to the field force

  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups (Product Marketing, Sales, Legal, Quality, and Regulatory) to create training programs, curricula, course materials and measurements that support business unit strategies and are compliant with regulatory, quality systems, and business conduct standards

  • Ensure timely updates to the course curricula to reflect changes in product offerings and market demands

  • Prepare Instructor Guides and train-the-trainer programs on new/revised curricula and materials

  • Work with administrative staff to develop agendas, certificates, and assessments

  • Demonstrate training effectiveness through systematic program evaluation and continuous improvement strategy

  • Provide timely evaluation and feedback to trainees and their managers/supervisors

  • Manage course preparations and facility set-up as needed and ensure proper training attendance is documented and updated in proper locations per procedure

  • Build FAQs and other training based on needs of the field and Sales organization

  • Foster a learning environment that focuses on adult learning principles

  • Ensure all materials are reviewed and approved

Travel (%):  The average travel for this position is 20% with some variation based upon the time of year and demands of the business imperatives.
