Job Description Purpose
Builds relationships with internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs (MA), Health Economics & Outcome Research (HEOR), Professional Association Relations (PAR), Public Affairs, etc.) to ensure alignment with VEO (Value Evidence and Outcomes) and National Accounts Medical Strategy. Supports VEO Collaborative Studies and Partnerships and facilitates the management of contracts, budget, fair market value, legal alignment and expenses. Responsible for business coordination of contracts and project management with external priority accounts. He or she may also participate in VEO Collaboration Projects as a research project manager. Coordinates department wide activities including, but not limited to, maintaining the VEO/National Accounts Website, and VEO Collaboration Concept Review.
Position reports to Executive Director, VEO and National Accounts and works closely with all employees in the department. The incumbent works closely with HEOR, finance, Medical Strategy & Operations (MSO), legal, MA Strategy, and other functions including VEO Collaboration contracts and expense management.
VEO Responsibilities: Strategic Planning: Facilitates the development, tracking, and budgeting of VEO/Managed Markets (MM) Medical strategic plans and ensures alignment with Product Development Plan (PDP) and engages key internal stakeholders to develop and manage milestones and contracts. Coordination of Department Key Activities: Coordinates agenda and organizes department staff and VEO Concept Review Committee meetings. Coordination of Department Key Activities: Coordinates VEO and National Accounts monthly/quarterly updates. Supporting Real World Evidence (RWE) Studies and Programs: Works closely with VEO Directors as a member of the research team on select research projects. Tracking and Management of VEO/National Accounts Budget and Expenses: Acts as a partner with all VEO/National Accounts employees and MSO to ensure budget and expenses are tracked and managed.
National Account responsibilities: Coordinate National MM Medical strategy development and alignment cross-functionally with Market Access and other functional areas. Communicate with Global Medical Affairs and Market Access to ensure materials and presentations are timely provided to support Global Project Team (GPT) decisions. Develop presentations to key stakeholders about Novo Nordisk Inc. (NNI) interest and capabilities. Provide consolidated reports on managed markets insights to key stakeholders for decisions making.
0-10% overnight travel required.
* A Bachelor’s degree is required, advanced degree required (MS, MPH, MBA, PharmD, PhD)
* 11 years of relevant experience, at least 6 in healthcare, required, 2 years of project management experience in a pharmaceutical company, research institution, or managed care environment preferred
* An advanced degree may be substituted for a portion of the required experience
* Knowledge of and experience in health economics and outcomes research and/or managed markets required
* Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
* Process and project management skills
* Works well under pressure, with initiative to take on unfamiliar tasks and work independently
* Strong facilitation and collaboration skills required
* Ability to engage with external and internal customers at all levels
